analyzed crime statistics for 450 American colleges and universities and assigned a safety rating to each school. Ratings are based on the number of crimes, weighted by severity and campus size.

NKU scored 92.15, just behind Morehead State. Western Kentucky was third, followed by University of Louisville, Murray State, Eastern Kentucky, University of Kentucky and Kentucky State.
