Melanie Marie Angle

Hometown: Tipp City

Wedding Location: Bethel Christian Assemblies of God in Dayton, reception at Fort Piqua Plaza

The Dress: Essense of Australia, purchased at Louise Christine Bridal in Oakwood

Why this Dress: “This dress was right for me because I wanted something a little different. I fell in love with the shoulders and how delicate it was. It was such a feminine dress and I instantly knew I would get married in it. I tried on lots of dresses but this was the only dress that made me feel like a bride.”

Beth (Ford) Livingston

Hometown: Vandalia

Wedding Location: The Steam Plant Dayton, downtown

The Dress: Jenny Packham, 2018 Awe Collection, purchased at Le Jeune Mariee Bridal in Columbus

Why this Dress: “I was drawn to its simplicity and elegance. It felt timeless and romantic, like old Hollywood glam, but not overdone. It was so comfortable and I felt like myself the entire day. I found the dress on my own, (during my lunch break actually!) and I just knew it when I saw it. We were married on Dec. 29 in a beautiful snow-covered Dayton, so I was able to pair it with a fur/leather jacket and booties for outdoor pictures.”

Sydney (Morton) Boyd

Hometown: Born and raised in Cincinnati, lives in New York

Wedding Location: Canopy Creek Farm in Miamisburg

The Dress: Designed by Pronovias, purchased at Lace Bridal Couture in Reading

Why this Dress: “I tend to go for simple, tailored, and minimalist, which this dress achieved—I loved the simple, belted waist—while still having a little something extra and bridal in the details: buttons down the back, an incredible, dramatic train, lace. After all, you’re only a bride once, so it should feel special and make for a grand entrance! The floral lace detail felt so right for our farm wedding, and the asymmetric detailing in the bodice looked natural, romantic, and unique, all at the same time. I loved how the mermaid shape highlighted my figure and made me feel feminine (with a little sex appeal), without showing a ton of skin. The dress was also so comfortable and light, so I was able to really dance the (hot) night away!  I felt romantic, not-fussy, myself, and special.”

Whitney Alexander

Hometown: Dayton

Wedding Location: James F. Dicke Family Transportation Center in Carillon Park

The Dress: Martina Liana, purchased at Carrie Karibo Bridal Boutique in Cincinnati

Why this Dress: “I have always known that I wanted a long-sleeve wedding dress. However, the search for this dress was not easy. I did not want a traditional long-sleeve dress but instead something that was unique and modern. As soon as I tried on this dress, I knew it was the dress I wanted to wear when I married the man of my dreams. I couldn’t wait to see my husband’s reaction!”

Mary-Ann Cao

Home State: From California, but lives in Ohio

Wedding Location: Four Bridges Country Club in Liberty Township

The Dress: ELDesignStudio on Etsy.com

Why this Dress: “As a petite woman, I knew it would be important to accent my other features and this dress hit all the right spots. The delicate lace bodice with illusion neckline gave a real pretty and subtle look, but the amazing low back also gave it some fun and flair. And I definitely wanted a light, flowy dress for the spring outdoor wedding, so the tulle A-line skirt was a great complement to the top. I loved the dress as soon as I saw it, and the designer did a great job of putting together quality material with
her quality handiwork.”
